First Frankfurt International Trophy - China Edition, a great success in Qingdao, China
On 13 December 2024, the first Frankfurt International Trophy - China Edition was held in Qingdao. The prestigious competition brought together professionals and amateurs to taste and assess wines, beers and spirits. A total of 306 samples were submitted for judging by 49 tasters, including 40 specialists and 9 experienced amateurs. Until now, the Frankfurt International Trophy - China Edition is the only competition in China to invite experienced connoisseurs to participate in a professional jury. This unique mix of connoisseurs, leading sommeliers and specialists not only guarantees a fair and representative selection, but also provides consumers with a valuable benchmark when purchasing products. The competition was also distinguished for the great diversity of traditional Chinese liqueurs, rice wines and other traditional wines, which competed with international products such as brandy, whisky and beer. This was the first opportunity for many tasters from China to gain an in-depth insight into the international market, while at the same time showcasing Chinese wine culture to the world.
