Frankfurt International Trophy – China Edition

On 13 December 2024, the first Frankfurt International Trophy - China Edition was held in Qingdao. The prestigious competition brought together professionals and amateurs to taste and assess wines, beers and spirits. A total of 306 samples were submitted for judging by 49 tasters, including 40 specialists and 9 experienced amateurs.

Wine culture in China has a long, rich and varied history, which gives it great cultural and artistic value. The establishment of the Frankfurt International Trophy in China shows the positive development of wine culture in China, but it is also a wonderful gift for consumers’ taste buds around the world.

A qualified jury

Until now, the Frankfurt International Trophy - China Edition is the only competition in China to invite experienced connoisseurs to participate in a professional jury. This unique mix of connoisseurs, leading sommeliers and specialists not only guarantees a fair and representative selection, but also provides consumers with a valuable benchmark when purchasing products.

The competition was also distinguished for the great diversity of traditional Chinese liqueurs, rice wines and other traditional wines, which competed with international products such as brandy, whisky and beer. This was the first opportunity for many tasters from China to gain an in-depth insight into the international market, while at the same time showcasing Chinese wine culture to the world.

Results 2025


The medals

For the 1st edition of the Frankfurt International Trophy -China Edition on 13 December 2024, event organiser invited 50 tasters. A total of 306 wines, beers and spirits were examined.

In all, 92 wines, beers and spirits were awarded a coveted medal. 17 samples received a Great Gold medal (92+ points), 25 samples a Gold Medal (85+ points) and 50 samples a Silver Medal (80+ points).
