For this 9th edition of the Frankfurt International Trophy, which took place on 04-05 April, organiser Armonia Deutschland GmbH once again brought 500 tasters to the historic hall in Frankfurt’s Palmengarten.
Wines and beers were evaluated by a jury composed of international experts, such as sommeliers and oenologists, and enlightened amateurs representing the tastes of future consumers. The spirits competition allows only experts to taste and judge the samples.
Almost 3,500 wines, beers and spirits from 44 countries were examined at the same time. In all, 1,143 wines, beers and spirits were awarded one of the prestigious medals. Of these, 128 samples received Grand Gold (from 92 points).
After awarding the medals, the competition then elected the best wine, beer and spirit from each country, and the best from all countries combined. This year it was a Greek wine that won the trophy for the world’s best wine!
